WE Charity has filed a lawsuit against Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to hold it accountable for false reporting by journalists Mark Kelley and Harvey Cashore.
The organization's lawsuit will prove that CBC lied in a series of stories that alleged WE Charity deceived its donors about its projects in Kenya. On June 27, 2023 the Court denied CBC's motion to dismiss the claims, ensuring that the lawsuit will move forward.
The lawsuit is pending in federal District Court in Washington, D.C. under the case number 22-cv-00340. Through this legal action, WE Charity aims to rectify the damage caused by the baseless allegations made by Kelley and Cashore, seeking justice and preserving its hard-earned reputation.
WE Charity's unwavering dedication to transparency has always been at the forefront of its operations. The organization takes great pride in the trust placed in it by generous donors and supporters. Therefore, it is imperative to defend against these unfounded claims and protect the significant progress made in Kenya and other areas.
